is
one
huh
sorry
not so much
they dedicated to
said
like some
a significant others he said in as president
yeah
each day i really appreciate that attitude and i just got furious with a friend of mine who is cancer the colon cancer the womb is just merrily invading her whole situation just a fantastic woman feeling so sorry for self herself living at ari the hora de krishna very foundation where every
buddy so nice nobody's touched her body once when she is going well i guess is nothing
and the i have been rude really just rude you know we think being spiritual means to be nice but sometimes you just get your not in your lodge or mama gelation you just get your sort out and if it's done with you where to since love it can be borrow but you know one of the things i want to say to you and that
the people who are fed into our program agree no matter how the press they were to take lsd okay and seventy people were born apple apathetic and hardly depressed and the great advantage of course is that the budge mama there is the substance it's so crazy the situation in
so much gets exploded into conscious awareness that the apathy kind of disappears not a rapidly and but the first step of course of the agreement of the individual to do that i you know besides becoming like a garuda issue will you know crazy with somebody like that or true
in love connection inspiration i don't know of any strategy to i think the matter of fact to be perfectly frank with you
and i think i'll strategies are absurd ultimately that there's no cookbook for working with dying people that ultimately that you know i can tell your story after story of things that have been done pain and depression people who are medically difficult to manage and
all sorts of you know fugit so-called huge therapy is you know lying then somebody fuckin our holding them bleeding within the great deal for music meditation in the heart sutra wonderful but it's all phony it's so empty if you're so
situation
isn't present i mean just another technique ridiculous hollow yeah

no
individuals
i think and no i'm not saying that
at all
what i'm saying is this that where you started with yourself okay so you're not working out of a technique or a cookbook or what you're told to do when your situation is correct when your condition is correct then you can open up your yeah you know what to do this
correct action now it's extremely handy to know sometimes you're so enlightened which does not happen to be my case so the case with most people i know but some people are so online editing know exactly what to do but when you have a certain correctness about your situation in your condition it can be extremely helpful
when people in certain conditions who are suffering from pain to go into their pain can help alleviate their pain by increasing it to the point where it moves from agony and ecstasy and then into empty
where you move from blyth they do nothing
or it extremely handy to use music when time can be very dragging their old i'm telling you
oh talk about a problem with dying time
now for somebody who wants to lose their consciousness away from you know charting every new second that movie music can be fantastic a person can give their awareness over to muse it can be incredibly inspiring wonderful
or the heart sutra there are moments when the thing of the heart sutra the correct situation for the reputation of the heart sutra is so
perfect
it's not like you're saying the heart sutra just to say the heart sutra that's not perfect the condition the person into that situation
i mean it fed
with
when he said with a kind of awareness of that field where there's transmission not conditioning but transmission
so it's good to know how do a lot of thing laying on i mean i'm just off on why i have the third attitude of to trying anything because the thing you know laying on of hands divine light i'll do anything you know if i am guided somewhere by the situation in my heart to do it
it's okay
and generally it works really well
he's not trying to figure it out but it's great to have a wide range of possibilities available t which is why you go to school and get an education
and then you know the technique comes through that technique but it's not hollow
you see what i mean
situation
his birth
education

i'll tell you i have had nothing but fantastic experiences working doctrine and let me pay i have worked in some horribly concert in the university of miami school of medicine jackson memorial hospital forget it it's back would you know miami beach doctor consciousness all they want to do it
to become a doctor so they can have a lucrative practice
oh in the meantime you know people are going crazy the suffering and the thing that i have seen almost without fail is that
if you are not walking in with some kind of preconception about health care of doctors or nurses aren't healthcare professionals that you've got the answer that wrong one thing together and we're trying to find a way and that fairway and you have a way that the person has the would frequently in enterprise they have been
how cultural broker
and bob such a great profession that have all these cute terms now from broker is a person who moves on it the interpret eric wolf to give you the reverend the interface of systems of cultures or have a medical system and the so-called outside world and finds the connecting points between the system to make things work you know to get a deal
going this she will the terrible term that your air cooled thought of it and if you just want to play and that sort of metaphor okay would you want to do is get a good deal going to get something correct happening not to look at the medical profession is a bunch of bandits and demons and insensitive people but to actually when you look there is
higher rate of suicide there are more crazy miserable doctors then there aren't you know crazy miserable and suicide note it's a terrible profession to be in hell alcoholism drug abuse and
these people have problems it very hard to work in it so when you start to look at it mere prospect that you come oh their disadvantage frequently because they've been in the sciences probably in high school they marched right towards their medical degree right through an educational system which has not allowed be them being
the values met values to come through they've had no experience in spiritual and you're very rare in any kind of spiritual discipline and they've been conditioned and a rather than humanized way but that doesn't mean they're not human
and it's true that one by
let me encourage you to do it know you're in the perfect position to do it
great
what's your during his position
what you want
restricted barkley
no it's not a lot cooler
but not entirely
which you know
life
you can create things
you can get it
did you can't do it absolutely in any community jet
they are the me
the
i think not only you can but you are enormously advantaged because you have the skills to be a scientists in addition to have compassion then you come to an a very simple understanding that being so called scientists are in the helping the healer
professional medical doctor doesn't mean that you have to be heartless and neurotic and i'd like to say paul brenner as an example and i go to hundreds of people that can be cited the thing is that most people don't have the opportunity to explore life sufficiently before they enter into medical training
so that when they hit it they are not prepared at all for what going to happen to them when they have contact with so-called patients and resulted as i saw it anyway and working in medical schools are very defensive posture immediately be coming through a doctor of all the behaviors and that's just an incredible defense and that you have to
dance that way nor do you have to be weird it's a doctor you can be a fantastic doctor and be right like many family doctors who are coming back happily and the
you know that thing going
and on i see you know in when i was a to medical school of miami they introduced humanity and social sciences into the medical curriculum intentionally so and technological as medicines getting the compliment is also very powerful in your training process but you're so lucky to have this experience which i
i presume your it because you wouldn't be sitting here now as the foundation for you the your further education to become a skilled technician is great why i have respect for medicine i just want to be sure i have a doctor with loving does not gonna try to do something to mean it's not necessary and who's going to inform me about my situation so i can purchase
a pain in my therapy
this it's great i've had them in a wonderful experience of don't do it
yeah

when

oh it's so frustrating me your questions like how it is the worst
if the worst it's like trying insistence you dragged to summon up the hill just rolled now if you're going nowhere but i'll tell you i we don't have to i live in a place where is no electricity has no televisions for every once in awhile and come out to the world and by a time magazine see how they look at the world and so
so i bought a time magazine and i read the most astonishing article driving up here about work with coma patients
i'm sure somebody else read time magazine i hope i did great because i've worked with people in coma and they've come out of coma and they're there and talk about apathy
that sort of the ultimate apathy and we know how and psychological and feel that they might be struggling to break through and total physical empathy and the thing that is sort of hard is that we literally become discouraged we lose our courage because we have a view of somebody not being home or
being so depressed that you can't move them and you think the for your gratification you need to see progress
you need a reward
i don't want to talk about service now i've just recently decided that service said
because you generally people who are in the serving professions do it for a reward
that thing that response for the individual
in relation to what they're doing or how they're being
so if you're know beyond the place of wanting a reward than so what you do the best that you can and don't abandon the person could they've abandoned himself
and something can happen at the time of death which is truly magical they said that you don't have a so-called hallucinogen to explode the process but the process will probably explode at the time of their death if not unlikely to happen
and you can be there for something miraculous and provide the context for that transition
but we must give up on in situation

any more questions
yes
i thought
okay
right
i
some time you know who enjoys staying at a friend's house last night who
i had a terrible life experience and we talked about and quite a bit she flipped out to very competent woman and she said she i wish somebody had told me about this before it happened to me and i should world sometimes i don't like to tell people about what is probably going to happen cause it'll help it happened and maybe it doesn't have to happen
so there's this kind of fine line are you programming somebody are or are you you know the better part of wisdom helping them develop an understanding of what is happening at the time it's happening by giving them a position of witness
a wonderful antlers or story is a yacht could show on whose initiated and three they they cut off the head of the nearby showman and a place it in the uppermost plank of the eureka from where it watches the chopping up of its own body okay there's the window
no person thought sitting there with a bag over the head he doesn't owe this heather dismembering me
they've got the map through the mythos to the mythological transmission and they're also watching the witnesses engaged then there's a point where the witness disappears but most of us as i said aren't enlightened so it's handy to have your witten surround let me tell you so by telling somebody they are statistically speaking or her generally or it is not infrequent
or i've seen it on a number of occasions that some you know when in the lfp sessions or when you die or in this situation before that situation it comes up that you have what we call it a crisis of trust and it's an existential crisis where you feel as if the whole world is
against you or your being poisoned or your endanger and you become very frightened if it's kind of like a paranoid experience like that sort of like that and in the lsd work we'd say it's not and it wasn't it was not uncommon that the difference would arrive and so i'd say to the person it's not uncommon that that happens and if that
should happen
one of the way that we can resolve it in terms of our relationship is for you to say i'm not trusting you and what's going on here
and then i'll say to you do you remember we spoke about this this is not uncommon and we called it the crisis of trust will you look within yourself for the source of distress at horizon and i help you in any way i can do you remember we spoke about this before
well let me tell you it's very helpful in those situations it's why mythology exists
if you're in the dark knight of the solon you know st john has written about it
and you think do the only one you might hurt yourself really
but if you really read their this is the part that this happen just feeling of in the case of the dark knight and the soul you have a map or there's where i'm okay i can then let myself go more deeply into the experience thus knowing
and dean said you know it bring the cameras back for go back and it has experience that knowing when you're in hell does knowing you're dying symbolically in the lse work or in psychosis or or die
beth knowing that there's a map is a sense of transformation of movement of journey somehow the you you just can't go much much deeper into it plus knowing that you know everybody's gonna do it millions of people have done it you have a sense that you know we have lots the company
here

absolutely
yeah
in in the upanishads they talk about two birds and one tree one eats the fruit one watches the eater with the experiencer in the witness great birds of the the friends of these two birds now there's a point you know when you did it become one you've attained enlightenment weather though subject and no object is no witness
there's no experience experiencer great
you can earn your report card of you there but mostly you know we're not there so developing are allowing the witness to arrive by virtue of the cartography being disclosed is very very helpful
if i mean every tibet knows about to tibet and book at the dead it's very handy to have that math the lama also was saying it in your ear when you are probably experiencing is and he telling you you're not telling him he's observing physiological signs clammy enough to chew
changes of breath and smells and so on
he's coding your experience but he knows he's giving you you know the steps in the journey and helping you deepen your experience the primary clear life so don't turn what faith go into it become one with it
it's really helpful to do this with a teacher a sitter a facilitator a foundation of connection
however if a mirror i mean you're a teacher is not somebody who is guiding percents basically an individual who so sensitive and so why in their mind so still that they're reflecting what is that too
hey
the meadow level what would say if the person is in there
they're in a so-called paranoid experience the meadow level is that you come out of the experience to pay essentially by saying i don't trust you in it's a paradox
right i trust you enough to say i do not trust you all of a sudden you're in you're experiencing distress your at another level of trust okay if a beautiful thing it really and it it never doesn't work if you do it authentically
yeah

warning

the world countries
very similar mean let's let's just say fan once compared stand gras once compared lsd to like a radar scanner of the unconscious you know if you have this they call unspecific amplifier and if you pay
had i mean i've had a lot of lsd and not anymore i i doubt if i'll ever taken again and actually it's been a number of number several years since i've taken as like and enough of that one
are they gave me up thank god for small favorite channel but in any case it it's very curious because it sort of scanned the unconscious unconsciousness picks up all that sort of emotionally karmacally charged material and exploded into conscious awareness call on specific amplifier now in the l these sessions in maryland
there are two major kinds of psychedelic psychotherapy one is called psychedelic therapy that the small dosages from fifty to one hundred to one hundred and fifty micrograms to given serial sessions which slowly let the stuff be pulled up to the surface or the defensive breakdown it comes up the others call psychedelic psychotherapy and that is a single
overwhelming dose from speak and when you're working with dying people generally you only have time for one you have a lot of work to do you mean if your if your objective is for that individual to die clearly with the family business claimed to have you know their your psychodynamic situation
a clear that perinatal situation clear your karmic situation whole transpersonal realm players and they're not you know going out and some dreamspace or another it's a lot of work if not very popular form of therapy or wasn't even at the time because the session day starts at eight o'clock in the morning infinitive finishes up generally at midnight the law
long day and it's a hairy one frequently on work plus there's the preparation and then there's a whole bottle of would you do
in terms of a perimeter or ritual another culture rites of passage about which i spoke earlier is the closest expire analog to when i was at maryland i i had done all this when i got a computer anthropology i went into the field okay and i'd study rites of passage in africa and i'm there
for year by have oh my dear miss interesting and then i was at miami i was looking at indigenous healing systems is right of passage in the medical system and doing you know added there and all the nine doing the lsd work and i thought now what's going on here and then suddenly i realized this is a rite of passage it had every element of that vanhanen
described in terms of separation transition incorporation
it's it's completely that but it's not designed to be fed to be absurd a spiritual or religious event but the curious thing about mind or about the human mind is that when activated in a certain way
one of the features that runs the qualities that comes up into sense of
i mean did a method a mystical field can awaken within the individual experience and it again in the human encounter with death which is not a spiritual book at all but we have a number of accounts of people who had profound mystical experiences which i can get talk about ad nauseum for i an infinity
item really amazing understanding from illuminations which changed their about their private not only their priority values but the guy values they were prioritizing
i mean they wouldn't beat what method called be value being values it was fantastic and another was crazy things that you know comes through the cosmos i gave a lecture duke university on death and dying and the department psychiatry and i went back to the motel it was worth
i turned on the television to escape and billy graham with on and one line my i went a bad turn off thank god i didn't he said i never saw hearse with the u-haul behind it
i turned off the television i thank you jesus you know that much great because talk about priority of value and how many going people that we weren't with prior to their valued getting rearranging and worrying about their bank account and or that he's going to it's crazy instead of getting their money matters straight and clear they're creating chaos
because what you want to do and die clean part of dying clean is finishing up your own business you get your life in order for god's sake
in part of the work we did i mean i have got very practical dying is a very practical the very humorous side to me i had some of the greatest that laugh i ever had i had the people who are dying at that point you know why not you to if you just get down with people after a while i mean believe me it's
it can be kind of awful sometimes but it can be totally hilarious
it is
come now
at a time
one
well and it's one
why
well i'm not sure
yes
timing yeah for me the problem with lnc every psychedelic drugs any psychedelic drug is it's a bit like a mack truck
and i personally i decided to give up psychedelic rather recently
i spent ten years i missed the whole psychedelic era yeah i'm using the computer laboratory at columbia university and then in paris new day long than in africa you know being ambitious and then than the thing happened in my life which which facilitated by substances then i got attached to divisions which
oz you know great now i got crazy with it and then i'll done knife and wait a minute hold on
yeah this is not a good way to stay in the body i realized and nine that i had a lot of suffering are abysmal amount so one of the things i began to understand it is there's a third natural dynamic to the unconscious which is just fantastic it left the deep that leak through in the dream field and a knife handy rate house
never
i have to train them that you already know it most people don't even bother to remember can't remember their dream second volume that they can remember they don't give them any credence value and pay attention to them or work with him and third of all there seems to be a periodic exorcising a deeper energies of all
almost cleansing in nature
for some individuals
and this is basically what it means rite of passage function to do to allow for the deeper unfolding to occur now meditation practice as i understand it but only superficially allowed this to happen in a one his first not clear that to speak
one you no one watches the mine one isn't diverting the mine into know i'm in jam as i understand it into a montreux that getting a catch to the forms who you are not in this sense of mindfulness and in so watching a level of the unconscious can unfold after the church com
the down which is very
much in the realm of illusion dreamlike fantasy content or right free association all that kind of stuff it can be extremely instructive to give to pay attention to that material to give it some value in the sense that yeah coming up a hot i'm noticing kind of thing because by not
noticing at least in my experience not paying attention to that is that it doesn't necessarily die of attrition
it occurred comes back in and you notice them but then you don't pay for so that the lfe work taught me that the people more than me because i'm mostly than one look at all painful stuff but had it shoved in my thing the reason why don't like lsd and psychedelic
drugs is that on but what them once called it a rape of the unconscious
there's a violating quality to the experience when you're hitting painful levels
and i don't want to talk about you know all the beautiful transcendental things i'm just talking about the hard stuff okay that
it can be extremely problematic and as i once said dr graf quite frankly from the treatment is more dramatic than the original plumber
yeah quite frankly sir the treatment is more traumatic than the original trauma that you're working on and like at terrible
and i also feel that almost every human being i've ever encountered into rather tender thing no way when you're in a nice relationship with him i have faith that you know and that you don't need this for the patch it your way through your defenses in fact i think your defenses can be your best friends
and becoming an ally with your defenses you're able to control then to a certain extent
you know what's with the door and when you've got the door barred up ten times because you've opened it too fast and all this that has flooded out but you're able to open it up in a way that correct for the rate that you're able to integrate experience
and i hate in a way that's why medication such a powerful process because that's one of the things you learn to work with
maybe that
yeah
oh

yeah i live in oh hi tom what but you put but other than for my life
oh no by live in ohio and
forty acres of land that they nonprofit educational was until yesterday service foundation repair after an article i am also the president and but actually investors without ridiculous to and
in my life isn't i'm having a great on i mean you know my life as healthy as far as i can tell my body is healthy and then i feel a lot of joy and i feel useful and i practice every day i love at four thirty and i said
probably everybody here but not as neat as you want
and the community in which i'm a practices every day the same way i do simple
that it's it krishnamurti land and actually the land on which we are with the land that was originally given to christian merging and he didn't like it because it's too hard to get to praise the lord where he is everybody is and where we are easy to get to and were there
annie besant his spiritual mother bought it in two thousand and seven and had a vision about a particular kind of thing happening there and were the first tiny humbled picking up the foot were not even a step yeah and it's very humble is very much in nature and teachers come there were academically so spiritual teacher
it's great we have not a permanent structure there we have no electricity m
ah i never dressed like this theater in on and everybody to be glad i found of they come down the hill because i have to go to l a to talk and everybody flawed and laugh and to make fun of me it's kind of coyote land on their lots of coyote who gear and poor and pots and skunks see
a night not very fancy i wish them of you i would come down to the you know how it it with a you'd probably don't i think my third
right now i'd love a we work a lot with a go crazy zen master called softening helped my life a lot these the ten thousand car monk in them and why i won't take that the story tonight but any case he's helped clean up even not helped me know he's helped me clean up my act considerably bigger
cause he's so he makes me laugh so heartily and he's just so crazy that you know life gets more delightful i mean it's something just sort of loosened up where i could actually forgive myself for having done so much damage but truly and that's been a great relief not to be guilty and angry
to the degree to which i was and living in nature is very powerful i'm ultimately i suppose the most powerful teacher i have nature because it doesn't talk back and actually i feel like a fool talking to it
and so that the instructions of living in the way that we live we spend a lot of time in the wilderness taking people back into it's a total robach and will take people into the wilderness and and we tell them to go off alone
not telling them how it's like the be in the wilderness with the thing go but the going is if it in a way like proportion of going you know we stress mindfulness lot of them psychologists or psychology students graduate students and down it should fantastic they know notebooks or i die
i don't want you to tell me your experience shepherd and putridity come back i want you to do it to be mindful
just be there and see what happens
and you know and you don't have to go on top of the mountain cry for revision you know seeking the visual everybody thinking these horrendous ordeal you don't like seeking blessed thinking or deals you know what happens happens perfect so it's a a kind of simplicity and what happens there and sometimes complicated to
it the and it's also nice thing about being woman one of the reasons i this is a sexist invitation i was after because fifty percent because i was a woman
the better
if i heard that mostly men come here and speak and actually
so grab told me i see the and he's right you know mostly men get half ago and half because they really are profound
the
and since i'm getting less profound i'm sure he regrets his decision but it's true i must say that even as all the things are happening in the world that are so dreadful and i feel a lot of you know my heart really hurts a lot but even as much as i feel terrible for what happened in the world or something
else it's coming through to you know this doom and gloom and holocaust consciousness the denial of life that seems to pervade a lot of people and despair today which mobilizes them completely i mean i just can't buy the program i mean it's a tear up there is so much duca on the planet is just incredible
but yeah i've had an opportunity so i you know i just feel like doing whatever my job is no one ever empathy and part of it is in the foundation it's very feminine there's no game plan there's no you know this is the vision that were marching toward like soldiers it's a much more kind of existential quality
things change and turn around lawton come up and go down know
some as to come to go with it
program well we have
you don't want to hear this
anyway you know native american medicine people and zen masters and to goose and wonderful teachers who come who basically are characterized by the quality of coyote
you know if they if they are wonderful teachers who have a sense of laughter about them since i generally invite people to the program since i'm trying to laugh more because i'm finding it very healing
those the kind of people who come
so some really profound people come
and it's wonderful you know the area someday i mean euros do the thing with something that's crazy zen master you know he wanted we are our sanctuary my friend none of you have a hall with wooden floors as a gp in a canyon
the little thought the name is gray clown out some outfit you know the middle of a white rubber shoes result shiny you know and he can show down prepare and he lifted that you've ever seen a tv before and even all steps into the tp and there we are all on our za fujian sitting on a little black killed trying to look like good students
then and he was wrong
the poll natural style the
he pointed out that they've actually keeping a good one point
a
why we did a kill a i have disappeared that we should be talking about diet filled with al qaeda worth it we go to quito which is the chanting which we eat energy way and you think the the mantra in korean or and i had such a prejudice against koreans really you know you can tell when i'm for night i have korea
in any way to fantastic so anyway kido and it will quote which was thinking on same both all which is the name of the body shots of companion with the in grin i had low chanting and but you know it's great just jam korean so there we are on same boasts off four thirty in the morning out
you to your hundred and eight full prostrations you've ever been a bang clowns and both on your beating your low talk and and you're walking around until ten o'clock at night great
i'm a good idea totally hilarious at times what this is would think that we should walk in the tiny gp round and round beating these instrument and it will vary telephone companies like not of very compassionate thing to do ultimately to yourself or others so there you go anyway you do this practice in order to increase what he calls special energy
know in a special energy actually it's universal energy and what i learned in shamanism and this is all hocus pocus but i've found out exists in certain forms of buddhism and then as one of them this universal energies great stuff doesn't belong to you but it's everywhere and once you
you know sort of opened yourself up to it
actually it's very healthy did you just need i mean it carelessly but one thing that i feel rage know physically and my energy on like a lot lighter in private is that practices then that i do we i'm terrible than anyway and a special energy so i'm just think this into them third
but anyway so weird upon the night and were kwan same both ali in down its rich to go to the dining don't because we can't do the real special energy practice in the t v too small so we get to the dinos a huge dome and is hey on the floor and what happens is it's all the students or chat
sitting by this time you know it's like the third day and you've you've been doing it for hours now of every day and you're beginning you've given up your simply the chance at that point i mean you're you're being chanted by the bodhisattva of compassion this what you you just sitting there like an idiot getting your moto i can share in division and it's fantastic so you know
one student after another goes up and stands in front of her him it like this you know year
gotcha with a little kid great not moving and everyone at chanting beating crazy it's like a kind of koreans to reach behind you and then all of a sudden you're not only being sung but you're being danced
and it's amazing you're dancing this sort of then dance i saw one old woman with a bilateral mastectomy in her late sixties
we used to practice here but now does it would be functioning jump five feet off the floor doing this practice and her mind opened up and she
she should have cancer and more she got special energy and special energy just means that you know just if if it's a funny thing i can't describe it but a very powerful and then when you start to come down and to think is for simply you become kind of simple minded living just
idiot
avila you just you look around and the world is alive and you're alive in your own part of this thing and it's very you're very peaceful you know and if so in the dining dome somebody slipped on the hey and the next thing i thought because i'm saying so something he covered in hey issued an to he'd like it's or bundle of hay
and laughing and it was absurd but the sense of a child but child not of childishness when it when all the noise stops and you you here in a way you've never heard before your body feel very peaceful look around and is offensive
and like empty plinth
and it even new term stays around the towing your life not an interesting so it's coyote their on and i imagine that some day
somebody from the moral majority will come and protest and just find a theano the trickster element the element of the feel the wise who comes back you know free of earthly attachments to dance in the world which is probably would
about free from all that do the work of reflection take a blindfold and hopefully transform them into white for the little bit of what we do but much humbler
as
the some people have been there we started two years ago and they're still there and some people come through and is not correct for them to be there is not a plane for everybody like they should this is not for everybody for sure
so that evening it to this is not necessarily for everybody is very much part of their
trying to get people to go there and though i would like to see more than quality there because i have such a respect for that way of being in life and helped me so much has been bitter but good medicine

the affordable
i found her wonderful being if you all i really enjoyed the question and i'm leaving early in the morning
