So Dogen Zenji very, very impressed this poem. He write on directory and brought back to Japan. He described this poem so proudly in his famous Shobo Genzu. Dogen's mind always returns back to his teacher.

Nyojozen always lives within Dogen's mind. This is a real transcendent transmission. by warm hand to warm hand. They want to realize our Buddha nature, which each person could make sure and realize. So, this afternoon I explained already this point. The other is not depend on to others. And the Shakyamuni never carry on us. We, you, each person has a Buddha nature. Only important things is make sure, realize that have within us always and look it up correctly.

Because our circumstances, especially this modern civilization time, unexpected things always happening. Time is passing away like a arrow and never come back again. So today is very, very precious for us. We should stand and stare, reflect ourselves, each other, with the help of the others. Your very eager, honest manner for Zen practice, I was awfully impressed. Last year, same summer session, Zazenkai, I could attend.

But this year, this summer session, Zazenkai, it is twice for me. People seem much different. Former person going away and new people come. But beyond new and old they are very, very real. Today, this time, we are gathered here and together persuading the right way through our Zazen practice. This time many people together here Beyond race, color, state, there is no territory around us. Only here exists one thing.

We are each Buddha. Buddha living within us, always. So, this Zazenkai, I think very, very meaningful.
